We say that first, in plain words, because finding it out later would feel like a trick.
What you do own, always. Your domain, in your name. Your words, your photos, your logo, and a copy of all of it whenever you ask.
And if you want the whole thing, you can have it. After a year you can buy it outright for $1,500. After two years it is free, and the files, the code, and the hosting move to your account.
Can't I do this myself now
You can. A builder will hand you a page in an afternoon and it will look fine.
Then the price list changes and it is your Saturday. Then it gets slow and you do not know why. Then a form stops sending and nobody tells you.
You are not paying for the page. You are paying for the website to stop being your problem for good, and for somebody to pick up when it needs something.
